Pedro Berardinelli completed a Bachelor and Master in Composition at the University of Aveiro (Portugal) and received in 2005/06 a merit scholarship for exceptional academic performance.
He finished with the highest grade the Master in Contemporary Instrumental Composition at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska (Spain), having Alberto Posadas and José Luis Torá as tutors. In the context of is final Master project he wrote a solo bassoon work for Lorelei Dowling.
He finished with distinction the Post-graduation in composition at the Kunstuniversität Graz where he studied with Clemens Gadenstätter and Beat Furrer.
He regularly attended composition seminars and later on some private lessons with Emmanuel Nunes, which had a major impact on him.
He was selected for the Composition Academy of the Festival Musical (Strasbourg 2016), the Altitude University (Saint-Martin-Vésubie 2018) and MCME Composers Academy (Chaykovsky 2018), having worked with Quatuor Diotima, Ensemble Multilatérale/Alain Billard and Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble/Ivan Bushuev. He attended the Stockhausen-Kurse, Impuls and several other courses, conferences, seminars and classes with composers such as Rebecca Saunders, Mark Andre, Philippe Manoury, Chaya Czernowin, Stefano Gervasoni, Yann Robin, Raphaël Cendo, Pierluigi Billone, Dmitri Kourlianski, among others.
He is currently enrolled in the Composition Doctoral Program at the University of Aveiro and Kunstuniversität Graz (hosting institution) under the supervision of Sara Carvalho and co-supervision of Beat Furrer, being a scholar from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
